The battle between Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi and Tanzanian professional boxer Karim Mandonga “Mtu kazi” has taken the internet by storm. The drama started when Mandonga took offense to Omondi’s claim that the professional boxer was not paid for his highly anticipated match against Kenya’s Wanyonyi that took place on January 14th at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) in Nairobi.
Mandonga, who is known for his braggadocious nature, responded by calling out the comedian, claiming that he had taken over the entire arts and entertainment industry in Nairobi with his influence.”I just pitty Eric Omondi since the guy thought he would get a chance to perform at the event prior to our boxing match, but unfortunately, Mandonga had already taken over the entire event with my influence, I had taken over the entire arts and entertainment industry by myself, so there was no room for Eric Omondi to showcase his comical antiques ” Mandonga bragged.

Omondi quickly fired back, warning Mandonga to never mention his name again and threatening to deal with him if he did. “Ambieni huyu Kijana mdogo mimi asiwahi nijaribu. Asiwai nizungumzia ama kunitaja. NITAMMALIZA mimi na hizo Mafuta amejaza Kwa mwili. Heshimu Rais Kijana” Eric Omondi furiously responded.

The online drama between these two has already become a hot topic among netizens, with some seeing it as a showdown between a lion and a cat, and the outcome already seeming predictable.
The altercation between Omondi and Mandonga started when the Tanzanian boxer arrived in Kenya and took over the entertainment scene with his vocal campaign for his match against Kenya’s Wanyonyi. Mandonga’s name trended on social media and his match with Wanyonyi revitalized the boxing sport in Kenya.
Despite his win, Omondi believed that Mandonga’s success was due to his flamboyant social media presence and braggadocious personality. However, the comedian insisted that the boxer was only paid with exposure and not with money.
