Tupatane statehouse: Comedian Eric Omondi Leads March to Statehouse to Highlight Kenya’s Economic Woes

by Chief Okuzo

The comedic genius and social crusader Eric Omondi, fresh off his peaceful protest outside Parliament, is once again taking a stand for Kenyans struggling with the economy. But this time, he’s taking things up a notch – or rather, a march. Omondi is urging all those hit hard by Kenya’s economic hardships to join him in a march from Uhuru Park to the State House to share their problems with the President himself.

In a bold move that’s got tongues wagging, the comedian is calling on the unemployed, the poor, and every degree holder still searching for a job to come out in force on March 7th, 2023. Their mission? To present their CVs, rent arrears, school fee arrears, shopping lists for basic goods, and electricity bills to the powers that be.

To make it even more exciting, the witty jester, Eric Omondi has organized a meeting at City Stadium, where he plans to hand out packets of Unga to anyone planning to join him on the march. The comedian has also put out a call for well-wishers to donate Unga but notes that cash donations will not be accepted – perhaps a wise move in a country where corruption is all too common.

Omondi’s push for economic justice comes on the heels of his recent arrest for peacefully demonstrating outside Parliament. The comedian is determined to shine a light on the struggles of everyday Kenyans and hopes that his march will finally get the attention of President William Ruto.

As with any bold move, Omondi’s call to action has sparked a range of reactions from his fans. Some are skeptical that he’ll be able to breach the heavily fortified State House, while others question whether his efforts will really make a difference. But for those who have suffered through years of economic hardship, Omondi’s bold move is a glimmer of hope in an uncertain future.
