Former WCB Wasafi signee Rayvanny will be fined another ksh.2.5million for performing at Nandy’s concert. This comes after the singer was fined a total of Tsh.800million(Ksh.40million) for ditching the record label.
The extra ksh.2.5million fine is said to be the new amount the singer should pay, since he hasn’t been cleared fully by the record label. Wasafi media stated that the singer is not allowed to perform at any event.
The “I Love You” hit maker was forced to seek help from Basata following the disagreement. According to the report, “Rayvanny went to seek help from Basata because of the amount of money he was charged by Wasafi. He was not supposed to perform at any concert before he was cleared by Wasafi record label, but he went ahead and performed at Nandy’s event.”
During a previous interview with DW Africa, Diamond Platinumz disclosed that signees quit his record label for failure to honour the regulations set in the contract. In the past several artists have ditched the record label to focus on individual music.
The singer stated, “We don’t just sign artistes, we make sure we transform their music into business and make them very rich. That is why artistes signed under Wasafi become big artistes. Some of them after we have done that, now want to take it from us by force.”
“They want to be given the whole amount of money they get while working under Wasafi.” What are your thoughts on this story? Kindly share your insights down below.
