Kenya is currently abuzz with speculation and rumors surrounding the state of singer and entrepreneur Akothee’s marriage. The source of much speculation appears to be her husband, Mr. Schweizer, whose actions and background have ignited a firestorm of controversy online. Netizens are increasingly attributing Akothee’s reported depression to her marital troubles, with divorce rumors swirling.
Akothee’s wedding with Mr. Schweizer, also known as Mr. Omosh, on April 14th, was a grand affair that captured the attention of the entire nation. However, amidst the festivities, questions began to arise about Mr. Omosh’s family history, or rather, the lack thereof. Online sleuths claim that there is virtually no information available about his lineage, education, or personal history, leading many to view this as a significant red flag.

One social media user commented, “I’ve been looking all over for information about Akothee’s husband Denis Schweizer. There’s nothing to be found. No education, no family, and no online footprints. Just a ‘mysterious’ guy now serving as the chairman of Akothee Foundation.”
Controversial lawyer and Akothee’s friend, Miguna Miguna, expressed his concern about Mr. Omosh’s enigmatic background, calling it a “bright red flag” and suggesting the need for a prenuptial agreement. “I hope she has a prenup and a will. Wishing her well,” Miguna remarked.
In response to these speculations, Akothee took to social media to defend her husband. She vehemently declared, “Haha, my husband is giving men sleepless nights. I can’t marry a nobody; if so, I would have done this long time ago. I am hot and sexy; therefore, I attract the likes of Omosh.” She further emphasized that she didn’t marry for wealth, asserting her financial independence by revealing that she had rejected multiple proposals, including one from a billionaire.
Months after the wedding, Akothee and Miguna Miguna seemingly buried the hatchet, yet Miguna’s curiosity about Mr. Omosh persisted. On Twitter, he insisted, “I had a chance to tell Esther Akothe (Akothee) that whether she was upset with me or not, she must explain to me, her Big Brother, who Omosh ja Switzerland is and what his true background is.”
Mr. Omosh’s troubles with public perception began when Akothee introduced him to the public. He was accused of engaging in extramarital affairs, with a woman named Lucy claiming that he had been her fiancé before he began dating Akothee. According to Lucy, she had connected Mr. Omosh with Akothee before their relationship blossomed.
Akothee staunchly denied Lucy’s allegations during a Radio Maisha interview on November 1, 2022. She insisted that she had met Mr. Omosh through his friend Pius while in Switzerland, and he had assured her that he was single when they began dating.
