From the glitz and glamour of her Parisian holiday, Kenyan superstar Akothee found herself unceremoniously kicked out of a taxi in the city of love. As they settled into the car, Akothee encountered a language barrier with the driver who made it clear that he did not speak English.
According to the self-proclaimed president of single mothers, the drama began when the taxi driver, who apparently doesn’t speak a word of English, took offense to Akothee’s request to adjust his seat, leaving her wondering what language he was actually speaking since he had responded to her in English. As the driver loaded her bags into the trunk, Akothee struggled to fit in the cramped backseat, her long legs causing her some discomfort.
“Just because I can’t speak french, the taxi driver thought I was rude. First, he told me clearly ‘I don’t speak English ‘And I wondered what is that you are speaking.
She went on to explain that the driver had initially informed her that he did not speak English, to which she had responded by requesting that he load their bags into the car. Desperate to make herself comfortable, she asked him to adjust his seat. But to her surprise, the request was met with disdain, as the driver found her tone to be rude.

Ever the quick-witted singer, Akothee couldn’t help but joke about the situation. Perhaps, she thought, she simply forgot to use the magic word: “please”.In hindsight, she mused, she should have added a polite “sir” and a few extra “please” to make her request more palatable
“So I asked him to adjust his seat so I could sit 🤣🤣🤣He found this Rude. Ooh maybe I forgot to say ” please SIR Could you adjust your seat please, so I can please sit down Please “🤦. She narrated
The taxi driver allegedly became angry and demanded that Akothee and her partner leave the vehicle. Akothee was left bewildered by the strange turn of events, stating that she could not understand why she had been booted out of the car. By the time her lover Omosh returned from retrieving their luggage, they had already been kicked out of the taxi.
“Then with his eyes wide open, He said Out of my car, I can’t take you 🙄🙄 Eeh, by the time Omondi was coming back Bags were out 🤣🤣🤣 The guy was Soo worked up 🤣🤣🤣 So I explained to Omosh that I also don’t understand why we are kicked out” she explained.
Akothee shared that the incident had taught her a valuable lesson about French etiquette. “We are learning some ETIQUETTE TO SURVIVE IN FRANCE. You must say please after every sentence lest you miss your flight/train,” she wrote.
