The family of Edwin Kiprotich Kiptoo, also known as Chiloba, an LGBTQ activist murdered a week ago by his close friend and partner Jackton, has requested that people refrain from spreading false information about his sexual orientation online.
In an interview, his cousin Gaudencia Tanui stated that Chiloba was a God-fearing person and refuted the false portrayal of him as an immoral individual. Tanui also shared that Chiloba was a church leader at the primary school he attended and was known as “pastor” at St Francis Kimuron due to his strong faith.

Update on chiloba’s murder case
Five suspects connected to the murder and disposal of LGBTQ Activist Edwin Kiptoo Chiloba’s body will be held in police custody for an additional 21 days as the police complete their investigation.
The court in Eldoret ordered that the prime suspect, Jackton Odhiambo, and four others, including Dennis Litali and three minors, remain in custody to allow the police to arrest more individuals involved in the murder.
The lead investigator in the case, Chief Inspector Stephen Mumba, informed the court that a postmortem has yet to be conducted to determine the cause of Chiloba’s death and that the crime scene (the deceased’s house) and the vehicle used to dispose of the body have not yet undergone forensic examination.
The main suspect behind the murder of Edwin Chiloba, Jackton Odhiambo admitted to murdering the LGBTQ advocate over cheating allegations. Jackton also confessed to the authorities that he had murdered Chiloba as revenge after he had cheated on him.
