A Nairobi businessman is seeking help after he was robbed of Sh1.5 million meant to pay his workers after withdrawing the cash at a bank in Donholm estate.

The businessman claims that he was robbed the cash while driving from Mihang’o in Utawala when unidentified men blocked him with another car and demanded that he should surrender the money to them.

the men were three in number, they were armed with rifles. They took the cash and sped towards Eastern Bypass in a Subaru, he told the police in his report filed at the Embakasi Police Station.

The businessman added that he was alone in his vehicle and could not capture the number plate of the car used by the armed men saying that “things happened so fast.”

Detectives around the area have launched a manhunt for the suspects.

The incident comes days after Ol Kalou MP David Kiaraho was robbed of Sh700,000 during a carjacking incident on Sunday night around 2 am as he was driving home from an entertainment joint.

According to a police report filed by the member of Parliament, the MP was ambushed by thugs at the junction of James Gichuru road and Waiyaki Way.

The thugs ordered him to lower the window of the vehicle and forcefully got in his vehicle and demanded that he should drive to the Muthiga area within Kikuyu. The Mp also added that the thugs blindfolded him and demanded he hand over his ATM card among other valuables.
