Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetangula has threatened that Kenya Kwanza will hold its last campaign rally on Sartuday, August 6th at Nairobi’s CBD if they will be denied access to Nyayo Stadium.
Wetangula addressed a rally at Eldama Ravine in Baringo County on Monday, where he stated that their last Campaign rally will be held between Moi Avenue and Kenyatta Avenue.
He stated, “On Saturday, August 6, our meeting if you don’t open Nyayo Stadium will be at the junction of Moi Avenue and Kenyatta Avenue.”
The Ford Kenya leader assured their supporters of full security during their final rally. He promised that police officers will be present to offer protection. He stated,
“Just as we did in Eldoret, we will notify the police, because the law does not require them to give us permission, it requires we give them notice. Polisi wakikuja watalinda maduka ya watu na sisi tutakuwa na mkutano at the junction of Moi and Kenyatta Avenue.”
Raila Odinga’s last Azimio rally will be held at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. This comes after a heated up campaign rally held in Kisii, where Raila Odinga was given a go-ahead by the Kisii Council of elders to run for president.
Other leaders who attended the campaign include the COTU Secretary General, who criticised the Deputy president William Ruto and his team for attacking the president and state officers.
However, Mr Atwoli argued that the government might be provoked to take action against the Deputy president and put him into custody. What are your thoughts on this story? Kindly share your insights down below.
