President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto have been lambasted by former Minister of Justice Affairs Martha Karua for their childish outbursts in public.
According to the former Gichugu legislator, the two leaders are demeaning the voters and undermining the presidency by their inappropriate behaviour. Recently, the two leaders have allowed their conflict to play out publicly by ridiculing and abusing one another.
While launching the Universal Healthcare in Mombasa, President Uhuru chastised his DP for being a propagandist who likes claiming credit for government achievements in which he was not involved. In a rebuttal, Ruto said that Uhuru lacks the authority to deny him credit for government initiatives since he was there throughout conception and planning.
Karua said in an interview with Citizen TV that although conflicts are natural in any coalitions, Uhuru and DP Ruto have to find a solution to overcome the problem.
“By pushing their battles into the public sphere, they demonstrate their contempt for both citizens and leaders. They must devise a method for establishing minimal conditions for collaboration. ” Said Martha Karua.
