Kenyan citizens were awakened on August 8th by a series of viral videos showcasing the discontent of Uasin Gishu residents directed at their County government. The residents expressed their frustrations over unfulfilled promises made by Governor Bii and Senator Mandago regarding a student airlift program to Canada and Finland. These pledges, once seen as beacons of hope, have now come under intense scrutiny, with allegations of financial mismanagement and deceit.

The initial assurance from the County government, spearheaded by Governor Bii and Senator Mandago, included a commitment to facilitate a student airlift program to Canada and Finland. Parents and guardians heavily invested in this initiative with the aspiration of providing their children with enhanced educational opportunities. However, as time progressed, doubts began to cloud the promises, and suspicions of a possible financial scam emerged.

Among the voices of discontent, one prominent figure emerged – a young student named Chebosoon. Known for his vocal presence on Twitter, Chebosoon shared a video in which he emotionally recounted his personal experiences. He alleged mistreatment by the county’s law enforcement, particularly the Askaris, who operate under the direct jurisdiction of Governor Bii and Senator Mandago.
As tears welled up in Chebosoon’s eyes, he appealed to the county authorities to address the grievances of not only himself but also countless others who had invested their hopes and resources into the promised student airlift program.
Interestingly, a twist in the narrative emerged as netizens delved into Chebosoon’s social media history. Past posts showed Chebosoon as a defender of Senator Mandago during a previous episode related to the Canada and Finland student airlift program.
