Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has reacted to President William Ruto’s move to dedicate the statehouse to God, through his Facebook page, the flamboyant politician labeled the statehouse as a house of prayer as he claimed the same residency was filled with alcoholism in the previous administration led by the former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ikulu ya sherehe sasa yageuka kuwa hekalu ya maombi. Yani hii ni ile ikulu ambayo teii usiku na mchana. Haki ya Mungu nimeguswa na Our president mpaka nasikia kuokoka. He said.

Sonko also urged his followers to pray for his alcoholic behavior after being challenged by the president, he also revealed that he was not willing to quit alcohol altogether.
Niombeni niwache pombe na kama ni kukunywa niwe nakunywa kidogo kama ile mvinyo ambayo yesu alikuwa anakunywa. He added.

In another post, Mike Sonko indirectly threw jabs at Ruto’s and competitors saying that if they had won they would have turned the statehouse into a brewing den.

Kusema ukweli mganga angeshinda ikulu ingeendelea kuangamia na beste wangu wamateii angendelea kutesa na kudhulumu mabeste wake.mike added.

On Sunday 25th, the President, William Ruto asked 40 preachers to consecrate State House Nairobi.
The head of state said he was dedicating the State House to God for enabling him to win the elections and emerging as the fifth president of Kenya.
“To you, all, don’t be in a hurry to leave. Walk around State House as you pray in tongues. Let everyone know that we are finally here,” Ruto said.
