by Jayden Musembi

The prosecution side of Monica Kimani’s murder case has told court that the weapon that was used to kill the businesswoman is yet to be recovered. The case has taken a twist where Jacque Maribe and Jowie Irungu are the key suspects of the murder.

A total of 40 witnesses were called to testify over the suspects in the murder that took place in September 2018. The investigating officer Maxwell Otieno told the court that since the murder of Monica Kimani, the murder weapon is yet to be recovered.

He stated, “We really bothered, we did a thorough search around the house but unfortunately we were never able to get it.” In a rebuttal, Maxwell Otieno was tasked by Maribe’s lawyer Katwa Kigen, where the latter stated that there was no evidence that the second accused was in possession of the sharp object.

Kigen stated, “As far as you’re concerned she is connected to this murder in the five items you have listed there; the use of motor vehicle belonging to the second accused, the burning of clothes, the switching off of the phone, the two statements and that they were together in club.”

However, Otieno stated, “The weapon that was used in the process of that murder, that facilitated the submission by the deceased person, is now found in the house of accused number 2…and as I said accused number 2 facilitated accused number one by availing her vehicle which took him to the house of the deceased.”

Maxwell Otieno also argued that Jacque Maribe had made a false report where she argued that Jowie shot himself. What are your thoughts on this story? Kindly share your insights down below.
