by Chief Okuzo

Kenyan pastor and leadership advocate John Cw has been nominated for the prestigious Grand Commander of Peace award, becoming the first individual in East Africa to receive the honor. He will also be conferred with an honorary doctorate in meditation and reconciliation for his contribution to peacebuilding and governance across the continent.

The award ceremony, organized by the United International Peace and Governance Council in collaboration with the American University of Peace and Governance, is scheduled to take place on July 18 at the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi.

The Grand Commander of Peace is one of the highest accolades for individuals working to promote global peace and leadership. The last recipient of the award was Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traoré, who was recognized for his role in fostering stability in West Africa.

Pastor John Cw has emerged as a vocal figure on matters of governance, ethics, and youth empowerment in Kenya and beyond. His calls for responsible leadership and his engagement with young people have earned him a growing following, positioning him as an influential voice in shaping conversations around Africa’s future.

The upcoming ceremony in Nairobi is expected to draw dignitaries, scholars, and peace advocates from across the region and internationally, cementing the city’s growing status as a hub for dialogue on leadership and reconciliation.
