SHEILA WEGESHA: The Disturbing Details of her murder Unveiled

by Chief Okuzo

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, Linda Okinyi, to care for her mother, Sheila Wegesha, prepared a delightful meal and entered her mother’s bedroom to serve her, only to discover a horrifying scene. Sheila was found lifeless in a pool of blood with multiple cuts on her throat. Shocked and confused, Linda immediately reported the incident to the police, who began piecing together the events leading to Sheila’s tragic death.

Sheila Wegesha was known for her deep appreciation of Ohangla music, a genre she frequently enjoyed in clubs dedicated to Luo music. She often shared her experiences on social media, inviting fellow music enthusiasts to join her. Notably, her last Facebook post on May 4 was an invitation to an event at a club in Umoja.

Sheila’s nights out were usually spent with her husband, Jackson Bambo, the founder of the Light Uriri NGO. Jackson often boasted about his NGO’s achievements on social media. However, on the night of May 8, there was no indication that the couple attended their usual club outings, possibly opting to stay home in their Hill View Estate residence.

That evening, an argument ensued between Sheila and Jackson in their bedroom, which escalated violently. Jackson allegedly attacked Sheila, leaving her fatally wounded, and fled the scene around 1 a.m. in his Mitsubishi Outlander.

The following afternoon, Linda arrived to serve lunch to her mother. Upon entering the disheveled bedroom, she initially thought Sheila was sleeping deeply, only to discover the grim reality of her mother’s death, marked by the blood-soaked bed and a visible deep throat cut.

Meanwhile, Jackson had arrived in Nairobi’s CBD and parked his car near Kencom around 2:30 a.m., paying the parking attendant to look after it. Following Linda’s report, detectives arrived at the scene and began their investigation, quickly identifying Jackson as the prime suspect. They tracked his movements to Narok, where his phone signal was last detected at 6:26 a.m.
