The controversial politician took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the recent incident where a group of police officers, claiming to be from EACC and Asset Recovery Agency, tried to access Matiang’i’s home in Karen.
Babu Owino expressed that if Matiang’i had arrested former IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati back in August, as the MP had advised, then these “nonsensical games” wouldn’t have taken place.
The MP further revealed that he had instructed former Interior PS Karanja Kibicho to arrest Chebukati, but the request was refused. In an interview with NTV, Owino questioned Kibicho’s motives for declining to arrest Chebukati, despite clear signs that Raila Odinga would not be declared the winner of the presidential election held on August 9th.
The denial of involvement by both EACC and Asset Recovery Agency has sparked widespread confusion, with many questioning the identity of the individuals behind the attempted raid. Meanwhile, various leaders have condemned the action and called for a thorough investigation.
