It got to a point where a disciplinary hearing was necessary to uncover the finer details. Despite earning a salary of over half-a-million shillings, Kamene seemed to have little interest in improving her show or showing up to work regularly.”
According to the source, Kamene’s colleagues revealed that she would often text them an hour before her 5AM show, saying she wouldn’t be able to make it and requesting someone to fill in for her. This lack of commitment ultimately led to a decline in the show’s ratings and a loss of lucrative corporate advertising.
“The numbers just weren’t adding up for Kamene,” the source stated. “With her huge salary and the show’s declining ratings, it made sense for the station to let her contract run out and bring in someone new.”
Kamene will be airing her final show at the station tomorrow, January 27th, and her spot will be filled by Kwambox, who recently quit Standard Group’s Vybze Radio to join Radio Africa. So, it seems Kamene’s time at the station has come to an end, and she is being replaced by someone who is willing to put in the effort and show up to work regularly and it’s safe to say that Kwambox has some big shoes to fill.
