The Kenya Revenue Authority , KRA, had shut down Keroche breweries for failure to pay taxes which
saw over 250 direct employees lose their jobs.
KRA says that it has reached an agreement with Keroche breweries that all the accrued tax arrears will
be paid in the period of 2 years.
“The addendum agreement which sets the stage for reopening for production of Naivasha based brewery
will see Keroche settle an undisputed tax amount of ksh.957m over a period of 24 months starting from
January 2022”
In addition, KRA will lift the notices which saw Keroche breweries blocked from receiving any financial
aid from a total of 36 banks to help in its operations.
“ The signed addendum agreement will also see KRA lift agency notice to 36 banks”
