Airtel Kenya has recently launched new Unlimited Home Broadband 5G Data Plans tailored to meet the diverse connectivity needs of both residential and business customers. These plans promise to revolutionize how Kenyans stay connected in today’s digital era.
The Unlimited plans are available in three tiers: 10 Mbps at Kes 3,500 per month, 20 Mbps at Kes 5,000 per month, and 30 Mbps at Kes 6,500 per month. Customers need an Airtel 5G router priced at Kes 2,999 and available at all Airtel shops to subscribe.
In addition to offering unlimited data usage, the plans include an innovative feature: a power backup system integrated into the Airtel 5G router. This ensures uninterrupted connectivity for up to 5 hours during power outages, a first-time offering in the market.
Customers can purchase the 5G routers at any Airtel shop nationwide or order through the Airtel Kenya website or by dialing *400# for home delivery. Subscription and renewal of the unlimited data plans can be done via *400# or through the MyAirtel App. For support, Airtel customers can call 400, while non-Airtel customers can reach out to the support team at 0733100400.
Airtel Kenya initiated its 5G network rollout last year, initially covering 372 sites in 16 counties and 180 wards nationwide. Today, it has expanded to over 690 sites, covering 39 counties and 285 wards.
Ashish Malhotra, Managing Director of Airtel Kenya, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “We are pleased to introduce Airtel Kenya’s Unlimited Plans, underscoring our commitment to providing unparalleled connectivity solutions that empower individuals and businesses.”
Currently, Airtel’s network serves 89% of the Kenyan population, with plans to expand coverage to 94% by the end of 2024. This expansion aims to ensure more people can benefit from reliable connectivity and support digital inclusion nationwide.
