Khaligraph Jones & Diamond Platnumz Unite to Crush Wizkid Davido and Burna Boy

by Chief Okuzo

Khaligraph Jones is far from your run-of-the-mill rapper. This Kenyan sensation has been honing his craft for decades, reaching a point where his influence refuses to be confined within East Africa, let alone Kenya itself. With a musical prowess that speaks volumes, Khaligraph has transcended borders, making a name for himself across the African continent. And, if his latest Instagram post is anything to go by, he’s gearing up to give Nigerian heavyweights like Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy a real run for their money. The big question on everyone’s mind: Could he become the first East African rapper to rub shoulders with these Nigerian icons?

In a recent update, just a few hours back, Khaligraph Jones dropped a hint that he’s eyeing the throne previously dominated by Nigerian vocalists. His social media activity strongly suggests that the rapper is gearing up to prove his mantle as the supreme African rapper, accomplishing what no East African lyrical maestro has dared before.

Fresh off his London trip, Khaligraph treated us to a glimpse of the iconic O2 Arena – a stage graced by global music legends for their spectacular shows. Drawing a parallel between himself and giants like Wizkid who’ve conquered the O2 stage, Khaligraph Jones made an audacious proclamation. He’s set his sights on being the pioneer African rapper to pack the O2 Arena, an accolade typically reserved for Afrobeat giants like Davido, Asake, Wizkid, and Burna Boy, all hailing from Nigeria.

“That is the famous O2 Arena, where artists like Wizkid perform. I am here today, and I will also perform soon,” he said.

Should Khaligraph Jones accomplish this feat, he will etch his name as the first Kenyan artist and rapper to grace the O2 Arena’s stage in Africa. Notably, he’s not the sole contender from the East African corner; Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania has also expressed his ambition to conquer the O2. At the premiere of his 10-music-video extravaganza from the First Of All EP, held at Century Cinemax, Mlimani City, Dar Es Salaam, Diamond asserted: “It’s crucial that we perform at the O2. Failure is not an option.”
