Renowned Bongo Flava musician, Sharif Said Juma, better known as Jay Melody, has recently shared his mystical journey in a candid interview with Millard Ayo on YouTube. The journey, which involved seeking the aid of a witch doctor to conjure fame, was born out of his desperation to make it in the cutthroat world of the music industry.
Jay Melody revealed that friends and confidants whispered about a witch doctor’s ability to bewitch audiences into submission. Recalling his 2021 adventure to the witch doctor’s lair during a period when his musical aspirations were wilting, Jay Melody recounted the augury of misaligned stars that darkened his path to success. “I thought about it, and of course, I’ve been there. It’s not a lie. I was told something was wrong with my stars,” he confessed.
In his quest for fame and fortune, Jay Melody embarked on a journey to the witch doctor’s den, expecting to find a sinister, shadowy abode. However, he was surprised to find a seemingly ordinary homestead, bustling with life. His month-long stay at the witch doctor’s sanctuary was not without challenges. “Things became very difficult. At times I was not even sure I would overcome everything,” he shared.
Enduring a grueling regimen of elixirs, ablutions, and arcane rituals, Jay Melody hoped to alter his fate. “There were a lot of things there. I stayed for like a month. It was like a program, medicine, bathing, going here and there…,” he said.
After much toil and dedication, Jay Melody had an epiphany that success lay in hard work and unwavering dedication, worrying that it might have been too late. “When I finally came to realize all I needed was to work, it was almost late. All that witch doctor thing is not true,” he admitted.
Reflecting on his bewitching sojourn, Jay Melody laid bare the truth – the witch doctor’s sorcery bore no fruit. He underscored that the secret to success resides not in the supernatural but in labor and tenacity. “To be honest, the only thing I can tell anyone is that work speaks for itself. Imagine after that I didn’t get any results. There was no change,” he declared.
Despite his initial reluctance to chase his dreams, Jay Melody’s creative prowess has found expression in popular tunes for East African stars like Nandy, Billnass, and Willy Paul. The melodious tale of Jay Melody began at a tender age, and he now champions the belief that hard work and determination are the keys to unlocking success in the music industry.
