Famed comedian Eric Omondi must be feeling like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs, as he finds himself in hot water yet again, just days after spending a night in the slammer. The funnyman had promised to distribute free maize flour to his supporters at the city stadium, ahead of their highly anticipated march to Statehouse, to protest the skyrocketing cost of living.
However, upon arrival at the stadium, Eric was met with a battalion of heavily-armed police officers, who had come to put the kibosh on his humanitarian mission. The cops claimed that Eric had some nefarious plans up his sleeve, and were there to protect business activities at the stadium. Eric’s supporters had already gathered in anticipation of the much-needed relief food, but alas, the forces that be had other plans.
After a lengthy wait, Eric finally showed up on a motorcycle, carrying just one packet of maize flour. The police officers seemed to be in support of Eric’s idea of distributing the food, but faster than a hiccup, they called in more officers, who pounced on the comedian and whisked him away in a Subaru. As Eric’s supporters rallied in protest of his arrest, the police officers were forced to use tear gas to disperse the crowd.
Reports suggest that Eric is currently being held at Industrial Area Police Station, and might spend yet another night in the clink. Despite his first arrest being met with a social media post, the comedian has yet to update his followers on his latest run-in with the law.
It seems that Eric’s good intentions have landed him in the soup yet again. Let’s hope that this funnyman can get back on his feet and continue to spread joy and laughter, without running afoul of the powers that be.
