Gospel singer Daddy Owen is speaking out about the lessons he’s learned in love. The artist, who split from his wife and separated from his wife Farida Wambui just a year after their lavish nuptials, is warning other men to listen to their fathers when considering who to marry.
In a recent statement, Daddy Owen called fathers “the most underrated prophets remaining”. “Gents if you have a dad who’s still with us, pay close attention to what he has to say about your future spouse. They may be underrated, but they’re the most reliable prophets you’ll find.”
In a recent social media post, Daddy Owen shared a story about a friend who reached out to him to find a private investigator to spy on his spouse. To this, Daddy Owen had a poignant response, “If you’re at the point where you need a private eye, the relationship is already over. Save yourself the trouble and do what needs to be done.”
Daddy Owen and his wife Farida Wambui had a luxurious wedding back in 2016 and went on a romantic honeymoon in Belgium. Their marriage ended in 2020 due to reported financial difficulties, with Farida moving out of their matrimonial home, citing fatigue from “footing all the bills” and reportedly finding love again. The pandemic only exacerbated the situation and Daddy Owen has since opened up about the troubles in their marriage, which started just a year into the union.
Despite Farida remaining discreet and not sharing her side of the story, Daddy Owen is using his own experiences to educate and guide others. He’s reminding men that it’s important to listen to their fathers and to not ignore warning signs in a relationship.
