AKA’s daughter breaks down into tears during her father’s memorial service at Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg

A heart-wrenching aura filled the air inside the Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg during the memorial service of the South African rap Legend AKA as mourners gathered to pay their last respects to the ‘all eyes on me’ crooner.

The south African rap star was mercilessly gunned down by an unknown person last week on Friday a few minutes after having a meal with his close friends in Durban, leaving the nation in a state of shock and sadness.

The emotional memorial service was live-streamed on the rapper’s official YouTube channel as his fans who could not make it to the service followed the proceedings virtually.

As the service continued on the rapper’s official YouTube channel, with family, friends, fellow musicians, and even government officials in attendance. One of the most heart-wrenching moments was when the cameras caught his young daughter, Kairo Owethu Forbes breaking down in tears.

In the background of the video, the pastor in charge of the service was heard leading the congregation in prayer, Overcome with emotion, the little angel leaned on the shoulders of one of her close family members as tears were vividly streaming down her face.

The video has elicited mixed reactions online, as fans sent their prayers and condolences to AKA’s family. on the other hand, The rapper’s former manager, Tebello, also known as ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, was also gunned down on the same day and  Both he and AKA will be laid to rest on the 18th of February, 2023.

Despite the tragic loss, AKA’s family has already announced that his latest album, Mass Country, will still be released on February 24th. The album had become the rapper’s “entire world” in the last two years, and he had worked tirelessly to deliver only the best quality to his fans.

Even in the midst of grief, the family and AKA’s team are thrilled to share his last musical masterpiece with the world, as a tribute to his incredible talent and dedication
