President-elect William Ruto has promised to work hard to steer the country forward following the official announcement of his win by the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati. While addressing the members at Bomas of Kenya after being awarded the certificate, William Ruto stated that his administration won’t pursue vengeance against those who intimidated them.
Dr. Ruto went ahead and thanked the outgoing president Uhuru Kenyatta, arguing that he would build on his foundation to move the country forward.
He thanked the members of Parliament who fought through with him to ensure that Kenya Kwanza secured the win. The outgoing Deputy president thanked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, arguing that they ensured that a free and fair election was conducted to safeguard the Democratic rights of each Kenyan.
In his official address as president elect, he thanked the deputy president-elect, adding that he worked so hard to ensure that the team won the election.
In other reports, Azimio La Umoja coalition leaders have expressed their dissatisfaction with the presidential results, adding that they had intelligence reports showing that the IEBC system was hacked.
