  • Professor George Wajackoyah has finally casted his vote in Kakamega.
  • The Roots Party leader had earlier failed to vote after the KIEMs kit failed to verify his details.

Professor George Wajackoyah can finally breath a sigh of relief after managing to cast his vote. It shall be recalled that earlier on Tuesday, the KIEMs kit failed to recognise him. The Roots Party presidential candidate aired his displeasure, arguing that he didn’t understand how the machine failed to work on the material day.

Professor George Wajackoyah addressed the members of press immediately after the exercise was unsuccessful.

He stated, “I am very disappointed, opinion polls have been saying I am leading with 2 percent, why is it that in my stronghold I have not voted. I am told that Raila Odinga has voted, (Waihiga) Mwaure, (DP William) Ruto have voted and Wajackoyah has not.”

The presidental candidate argued that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission body should have checked the workability of its systems prior to the voting day.

His wife who accompanied him to the polling station stated that they would remain patient and let IEBC adress the technical error. However, the Roots Party leader can now relax, since his vote casting was finally successful. All the presidential candidates have voted in their respective polling stations. DP Ruto was the first presidential candidate to vote at Koschei Primary School in Sugoi.

Raila Odinga voted at Kibera, where he received a huge reception from his diehard supporters. What are your thoughts on this story? Kindly share your insights down below.
