Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko can breath a sigh of relief after the child maintenance lawsuit against him was withdrawn by the alleged baby mama. The lady in question stated that she resolved into dropping the case, arguing that she had been paid a sum total of ksh. 1 million to tarnish the politician’s name.
She stated, “That I have since searched my soul on the matter, considered the suit against the defendant and I now wish to unconditionally withdraw both the Chamber Summons Application and Suit both dated the 12th of May 2022 and further wish to extend my unreserved apologies to the Plaintiff herein and to this Honourable Court.”
It shall be recalled that in May this year, a woman took Mike Sonko to court arguing that the politician had neglected his 15-year-old daughter. She argued that the governor had ditched his responsibility and he wasn’t providing for the child.
A court statement released in May this year read, “The applicant and the respondent are the biological parents of the minor. The defendant has refused and or neglected to provide for the minor with adequate and or basic necessities such as education, good health food, clothing, shelter, entertainment, and medication.”
However, in a hot-seat rebuttal, the former Makadara Member of Parliament stated that he was ready to take care of the child if at all the woman brought her to stay under his care. Well, what do you think about this story? Kindly share your insights down below. Find more articles here.
