by Chief Okuzo

From June 10th this coming Friday, Kenya railways will allegedly introduce a train set to travel from Nairobi to Kisumu between 6:30 am to 6:30pm . The train is set to be departing every Friday and returning on Sunday according to their social media posts.

The charges for the train will be as follows. Commuters will pay 600ksh from Nairobi to KISUMU, 300 sh between Nairobi and Nakuru and others who tend to board the FirstClass will pay 2,000ksh.

Their Twitter post read, and we quote” Kenya railways is set to increase its trips. We have acquired new locomotives And refurbished coaches in case there is an increase in the number of passengers requiring the services” states KRCS spokesperson, Anne Maina.

Whether this comes after statistics from the release of the 2022 economic survey that showed that passengers using the express way doubled from 1.8 million to 4.4 million remains unclear.
