In a world where social media is king, it’s not uncommon to see bloggers and politicians clash in the digital realm. But what happens when a blogger turned politician gives advice to a fellow blogger who failed in politics? seems that Robert Alai had some sage words for fellow blogger Arthur Mandela, better known as Xtian Dela.

Alai, who is no stranger to controversy himself, took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Xtian Dela’s recent video of his mother’s plea for reconciliation. “Hey Arthur, don’t do this to your mother. Don’t ever take your parent through such pain,” Alai said. “Have a conversation with her but don’t let her cry like this because the tears are going to make the path of your success very slippery. Don’t be cheated by KOT.”

But what sparked Xtian Dela’s silence toward his mother in the first place? According to the former aspiring politician, his mother’s toxic behavior towards him caused him to distance himself.

with a lengthy post on his blog. In it, he cited seven common signs of toxic parenting and explained how his mother’s behavior had pushed him away.

According to Xtian, his mother’s constant criticism, manipulation, lack of boundaries, neglect, blame-shifting, gaslighting, and enmeshment had made it impossible for him to maintain a healthy relationship with her.

In an interview, Reverend Naomi Nyongesa, Xtian Dela’s mother, shared her perspective on the matter. She revealed that the family had not spoken to their beloved son since 2019, and all attempts at reconciliation had been unsuccessful. She expressed her pride in her son’s achievements but admitted that she had raised concerns about his lifestyle, which had caused a rift between them.

“I just want my son to come back home,” she said, tearfully. “We miss him, and we love him. We just want him to know that he has a family that cares for him.”

The public’s reaction to the saga has been mixed, with some urging Xtian Dela to reconcile with his mother, while others have shared their own experiences with toxic parenting.
