The MP elect for West Mugirango in Nyamira County Mr Steve Mogaka has begun fulfilling some of the promises he made to his residents when he was campaigning. In his campaigns, the newly elect MP had promised the residents that he’d sort fees for students in the constituency. Taking to his Facebook page, Steve announced that he would be meeting all students at his residence on 29th August this year.
He promised not to discriminate areas where he wasn’t voted, adding that he would lead all residents equally. He stated, “During my campaigns,I made pledges to all West Mugirango University students. I stand by my word.All west Mugirango University students are welcomed to my house on 29th August 2022.”
“On this day,I will have bought a new computer for the constituency.We will create a database for all the students and the courses they are undertaking. We will on a future date create a database for all professionals in West Mugirango. We will seek to have the professionals mentor the students with an aim of absorbing them into the job market once the students are through with University.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission announced Steve Mogaka as the winner with a total of 16,877 votes. Steve was running for the position on a Jubilee ticket. Moturi Rodgers came second with a total of 16,524 votes. The outgoing member of Parliament Mr Vincent Kemosi of Ford Kenya came third with a total of 16,205 votes.
