Mr. Kefa Mobisa shocked residents of Ibacho, Kisii county after he dug two graves, set his house on fire, and attempted to kill himself together with his wife and three children. It is reported that he dug two graves, one for burying his wife and another one for his one-year-old child.

Mobisa set his house on fire and threatened to kill people in his compound using a panga. Information from kin reveals that after Covid 19 struck the country, together with his wife they took a loan that amounted to ksh150,000 that would later be used to construct a school. They named the school Blessed Minds Academy. It had a kindergarten and a primary school that had 8 classrooms.

Explaining the matter , his wife, Billiah Kwamboka stated
,’ We took out a Sh150,000 loan in 2019 just before the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country. We borrowed the money from Mwembe Self-Help Group in Ibacho.
We started Blessed Minds Academy, which had a kindergarten and primary school. We built a permanent structure with eight classrooms. We were doing well until we were unable to repay the loan and the self-help group came for our land.

Ms. Kwamboka further explained that the loan accrued interest thus rising to ksh 450,000. They were unable to pay the loan and the sacco came for their piece of land.

Mr Kefa Mobisa would then start peddling drugs and selling liquor. He would then threaten the wife and children forcing the wife to report the matter to her in laws and the area chief.

In protest, he took .a panga and moved around our homestead, brandishing it and threatening to attack anyone in sight. He then dug the two graves in our house and prepared a roin-lawsang himself from the roof. ”added Kwamboka.

Mobisa is now in police custody.
