Saturday 6th August, the last day of election campaigns has witnessed all manner of drama. From Raila Odinga inviting Wasafi star Diamond Platinumz to the Deputy president stating he will share a cup of coffee with Azimio flag bearer, Kenyans have been treated to a lot.
Spreading the message of peace , Raila Odinga stated that despite the outcome of the August polls he will shake hands with Ruto. Raila urged Kenyans to vote for his government stating that they will give Kenyans the best economy that should be world class.
,’By voting in our next deputy president Madam Martha Wangari Karua, you will have a complete army to fight for you and our country. That is something you won’t find on the other side. There are neither fighters nor the fighting spirit on the other side,’
Stated Mr Odinga.
,’In Canaan, we must embrace reconciliation. I want to assure Kenyans that I will continue with this handshake doctrine, the doctrine of unclenching the fist. For the sake of Kenya, I will shake the hand of my rivals and pay the political price if I have to.’
Odinga is very positive that they will clinch the the presidency come August 9th . Raila stated he will shake the hands of his opponents. Odinga’s last rally was dubbed Firimbi. Kasarani stadium was filled to capacity.
Opinion polls have revealed that Azimio La Umoja’s Raila is the most preferred candidate. Tifa polls reveal that Odinga’s popularity is at 47% while Ruto’s popularity is at 39% . IPSOS polls show that Odinga is still at 47% while Ruto is at 41%.
With campaigns coming to a halt it’s only a matter of time before Kenyans decide who will lead the country.
