With the tough economic times facing Kenyans , loosing a job is not something you would advocate for , however this is set to be the case at Keroche Breweries.
In a statement to media houses by Keroche Breweries CEO Tabitha Karanja she stated last week that KRA had issued notices to any lender against lending the brewing company and therefore fully disrupting their operations.
Tabitha tweeted
,’i was thinking aloud on Sunday afternoon and pondering how I will relay the painful message to our employees on Monday that we will be laying them off as a result of KRA’s closure,’
The company is at the verge of laying off over 400 employees due to the illegal, punitive and draconian actions by the KRA.”
Tabitha also added that she is in deep agony thinking of how the tanks of beer will go to waste as they have been forced to drain them away
,’I was also at pains as I looked at all the beer in the tanks that we shall be forced to drain to waste and wondered why and how the following relevant ministries remain so indifferent to the dire consequences of the current closure of the company’s factory,’
Tabitha Who is also eyeing a political seat in Nakuru claimed the move is political stating that the pressure that KRA has is to make her her step down in her bid to offer political leadership to the Nakuru People .
She pleaded with the KRA to let them re open as they re strategize citing the livelihoods of many Kenyans depend on the local brewery.
