Will Smith smacking Chris easily became the highlight of the night at the Oscar’s taking a way everyone’s attention from the main event.
Chris made an inappropriate joke about Will’s wife , Jada , about her hair knowing well she suffers from an illness, Alopecia. The joke didn’t sit right with Will hence the move to smack the hell out of him.
However, Will has since issued an apology stating he should have handled the situation better than resorting to violence.
“ I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris , I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be “
Will stated that , if he were the one Chris was making fun of he would take it but the joke about Jada’s condition was unnecessary and out of line hence he allowed his emotions control his actions.
“ jokes at my expense are part of the job , but a joke about Jada’s condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotional”
Was Will hitting Chris really necessary? No, but was it justified? Probably yes.
