Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has finally lifted the mandatory wearing of face countrywide. During a press briefing of the state of the covid 19 pandemic in the country, the health cs declared that the mandatory wearing of face masks in public spaces has been lifted, however, he urged Kenyans to use face masks In all indoor functions.
Previously the health cs had hinted at easing the requirement for people to wear face masks covering both the nose and mouth while in public places.
“if people are not getting sick, then maybe that is the direction we ought to be going,” Mutahi said.
The mandatory wearing of face masks was imposed nationwide on April 3rd, 2020 by the Ministry of health following a hike in covid-19 infections and hospitalization across the country.
