Senator mithika Linturi In Trouble over his utterance

by Chief Okuzo

Meru senator mithika Linturi has been arrested by the police and taken to Nakuru city to record a statement over his utterance during Dp ruto’s political Rally in Eldoret town.

While speaking to the multitude,Linturi urged Dp ruto’s supporters not to accept “madoa madoa” in their community, saying that they should be removed from amongs them.

However his utterance has been taken by a section of Kenyans as hate speech among them being Kitui governor Charity Ngilu who said that Linturi must be as dangerous as the person he represents. “Forget Linturi, are we going to pretend that we don’t know the owner of the dog? It’s a pattern with the lieutenants of that dog owner. It’s the owner of the dog that should send chills down the spines of all Kenyans, not just those that live and work in the Great Rift Valley.” She said.

Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui also termed Linturi’s utterance as a threat and a serious assault to the people of Rift Valley.

” Utterance attributed to Senator Mithika Linturi in Eldoret is a serious assault to the peace and harmony to communities in Rift Valley. To profile persons on the basis of political or ethnic orientation is regrettable.” he said.

Following the uproar, the director of public prosecution (Dpp) Noordin haji, Ordered that investigation be taken on the utterance made by the Meru senator and that the investigation file be submitted to him before 14th January. He also added that any person found of hate speech will be prosecuted.

While Linturi received criticism from his rivals, the President of the law society of Kenya Nelson Havi said that Linturi meant no harm to the people of Rift Valley and that his words were misinterpreted by Kenyans

“Removing madoadoa simply means voting six piece for all UDA candidates. Those nimble footed ODM Twitter minions should stop profiling Senator Mithika Linturi for their failure of comprehension or intentional misrepresentation of what the Senator said in Eldoret today.” he Said.
