Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja now says that there was a bribe placed on the table by Uhuru Kenyatta to persuade him to withdraw his candidature in the Nairobi Governor race. According to Johnson Sakaja, Uhuru Kenyatta offered him 1 billion shillings but he declined.
Sakaja stated that an official who was sent from State House came with a message urging him to fake sickness and withdraw from contesting for the gubernatorial seat. According to Sakaja, his dream of making Nairobi better is unstoppable.
Sakaja stated, “kuna mtu alitumwa kwangu kutoka State House akaambiwa aniambie kuna hela fulani nitapatiwa niachane na hicho kiti ati niseme nimekua mgonjwa. Ilikua one billion na nikasema hapana.” Johnson Sakaja revealed this during a previous interview on radio Jambo. It is after the decline of the offer that the latter was threatened with prosecution and arrest. Sakaja defined the threats as little, adding that his dreams and ambitions to rule the people of Nairobi are unstoppable.
Sakaja however claimed that he has respect for Uhuru Kenyatta, adding that the respect rails from when they were together in TNA. Sakaja stated that he began his journey with Uhuru Kenyatta at the age of 24. He added that he still holds the utmost respect for Uhuru even though they have different interests politically.
Sakaja will know his fate on Friday this week when the High Court is set to make its final ruling. This comes days after Team University went to court to persuade the court to stop investigations on the hullabaloo surrounding Sakaja’s degree.
