Grade 3 Pupil Killed By A Pack Of Hyenas In Kiambu

Shock has bedeviled residents in Kiambu County after a grade 3 pupil was mauled to death by hyenas. The nine-year old boy from Nyacaba village in Kiambu was attacked by a pack of hyenas.

The boy’s blood-stained clothes were recovered at a nearby Bush scattered and soaked in blood. According to reports, the child’s mother, who is a doctor had been away from work when the boy disappeared from home. Quarry workers who were reporting to work early in the morning reported the residents.

Residents of the area say that they are living in fear following the incident. Reports say that the hyenas were seen roaming in the village. The residents have complained that they are living in fear, arguing that KWS are doing less to contain the situation.

The report comes a few weeks after another incident of a 35-year-old man was witnessed. The man who was residing near Athi River was reported to have been attacked by a pack of eight hyenas.

Other reports that came out recently was of attacks of 2 people from both Witeithie village in Juja. It shall be recalled that recently, the Directorate of criminal investigations warned residents of the increased cases of attacks by roaming animals. Residents have continously requested KWS to take action.
