Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto, accusing him of being “a man with two personalities” and claiming that the Head of State is deeply involved in corruption.
Speaking during a recent television interview, Muturi alleged that President Ruto presents a public image that is drastically different from the one he displays behind closed doors.
William Ruto is a person with two personalities. The man who appears in public is not the same man behind the scenes. That kind of dual character is dangerous,” Muturi stated.
Muturi, who previously served as the Attorney General, went further to say that President Ruto is “irredeemably corrupt.” He criticized the president for warning his Cabinet members against corruption while allegedly being involved in corrupt practices himself.
The former CS cited a specific instance during his time as AG, claiming that Ruto attempted to pressure him into signing documents related to a $1 billion USD deal involving Russian investors. According to Muturi, the money was allegedly intended to fund a tree-planting initiative aimed at growing three billion trees in Kenya, but he says the deal was more about personal gain than environmental conservation.
Every time you see President Ruto pushing a program behind the scenes, know that it’s a money-making machine,” Muturi added.
These explosive claims come just days after Muturi was dismissed from his Cabinet position by President Ruto over what was described as “incompetence.” He was swiftly replaced by Geoffrey Ruku. Since his sacking, Muturi has held a series of press conferences and media appearances where he has been vocal about what he describes as widespread misconduct and questionable practices within Ruto’s administration.
