As the nation anxiously awaited legal proceedings against the murder suspects linked to the mysterious death of Eric Maigo, the chief investigating officer, Patrick Boge, has stunned many by unveiling a shocking twist in the case. Boge revealed that one of the individuals apprehended in connection with Maigo’s murder, Cynthia Lusenga, was, in fact, innocent due to a lack of substantial evidence tying her to the crime.
Cynthia Lusenga, who had spent five days in police custody, found herself in court on Monday, the 25th, facing accusations of involvement in the murder of Eric Maigo, the finance director of Nairobi Hospital. The courtroom was fraught with tension as spectators eagerly awaited the verdict, and Lusenga, clutching her infant, was on tenterhooks, her fate hanging in the balance.

In a shocking turn of events, Ms. Lusenga was declared innocent after the police informed Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi that there was no evidence linking her to the brutal murder of Eric Maigo. The investigating officer stated, “We acknowledge that the investigation conducted so far in this matter reveals that Lusenga was not involved. We request that you close the investigation file against her and release her unconditionally.”
Upon further examination of the crime scene evidence and analysis, it was determined that none of it matched Ms. Lusenga’s fingerprints, and other recovered evidence failed to establish her connection to the crime.

Lusenga’s arrest stemmed from a report by Ms. Amina Kamora at Kibra Police Station, indicating a disturbance at a neighbor’s residence. She was apprehended in Kibera on suspicion of involvement in Maigo’s murder. Maigo’s lifeless body was discovered at his Woodley home, just a short distance from Kibera in Nairobi, bearing 25 stab wounds.
Meanwhile, law enforcement continues to search for the primary suspect, who was captured by CCTV cameras fleeing from Eric’s home by scaling the perimeter wall. Last week, the internet erupted with photos of a young woman whom the police claimed was underage, sparking demands from netizens for a thorough investigation into the matter. The fugitive suspect remains at large, though her discarded clothing was recovered in the Bombolulu village of Kibera.
Eric Maigo tragically lost his life after being attacked by unknown assailants armed with kitchen knives. The motive behind the attack remains a mystery. Neighbors reported hearing Maigo in distress, with the suspect inside the house refusing to open the door during the incident.
