Michael Macharia, popularly known as DJ Brownskin, who stands charged with aiding the suicide of his wife, Sharon Njeri, has now accused the police of flagrant disobedience to court orders. The embattled entertainer alleges that the authorities are compelling him to confess and admit to the alleged offenses as a prerequisite for his release from the confines of Kasarani Police Station.

Despite being granted bail of KSH. 50,000 during the initial court hearings, DJ Brownskin remains confined behind bars, with his freedom seemingly held hostage by the very individuals entrusted with enforcing the law. The perplexing delay in his release has raised eyebrows among both legal observers and the public at large.

Through his legal representative, DJ Brownskin has now resolved to seek court intervention by summoning the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kasarani Division. The move comes as a direct response to what the accused claims to be a brazen disregard for court orders issued last Friday. The artist’s legal team asserts that the continued detention is in violation of the fundamental principles of justice and fairness.

DJ Brownskin’s legal troubles escalated when he was hit with a trifecta of charges, including aiding suicide, neglect to prevent a felony, and destroying evidence through the deletion of incriminating videos from his social media accounts.

The charges stem from a video that surfaced online, instantly going viral, wherein the accused appeared to be recording his wife engaging in the act of poisoning herself. The incident allegedly took place in July of the previous year, casting a dark shadow over the couple’s once-happy household.
