Messi Apologizes for Saudi Sojourn, Faces Two-Game Suspension

by Chief Okuzo

Lionel Messi has found himself benched by PSG following his spontaneous journey to Arabia. The French club has made the decision not to renew his contract, leaving Messi to bid farewell to PSG at the end of the season.

“I thought we were going to have a day off after the game… I had this trip organized, which I had canceled already. I could not cancel it again,” Messi confessed in a candid social media video. However, without official permission, the club was forced to impose a two-game suspension and a fine of two weeks’ wages. This marks a new direction for PSG under President Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s policies, where the club reigns supreme.

While Messi is forced to sit out upcoming matches against Troyes and Ajaccio, rumors suggest he may already be considering his next move. Al Hilal, a Saudi Arabian club, is reportedly prepared to offer a staggering £400m for just one season, hoping to attract the spotlight with both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in their league.

Messi’s Saudi Arabian excursion has caused quite a stir, but the footballer did find some unexpected wonders. He shared his experience on Instagram, writing, “Who thought Saudi has so much green? I love to explore its unexpected wonders whenever I can. #visitsaudi.” With over 5.5 million likes, it seems that Messi’s fans are still following him on his journey.

As Messi’s time with PSG draws to a close, and with Neymar’s future also uncertain, the world waits with bated breath to see where these football giants will land next. As the saying goes, “It ain’t over till it’s over.”
