Karen Nyamu and Edday Nderitu’s Perceived Competition Continues to Fuel Drama

by Chief Okuzo

Edday Nderitu, the wife to renowned Kenyan musician Samidoh, has recently set social media abuzz with a photo of her baby bump in a flowing white gown. Edday cradled her bump during the photo shoot, exuding pure joy.

The caption of the photo read, “It is the most powerful creation to have life growing inside of you. There is no bigger gift. #nothingbutprayers.” While the post drew congratulatory messages, it also sparked trolling and teasing toward Karen Nyamu.

Facebook user Junior Ephantus took to the comments section to tease Nyamu, saying, “Your co-wife is pregnant again. You should also make plans to catch up since you don’t like being left behind.”

Nyamu responded sarcastically, saying, “sawa mkuu,” as the online trolling fueled the perceived competition between the two women. The drama began when both celebrated their daughters’ first birthdays in quick succession earlier this month.

However, it seems that the photo shared by Edday on April 27th was not recent, but rather an old image from her previous pregnancy. In September 2022, she posted a throwback picture wearing the same gown and holding her belly, reminiscing about her pregnancy.

Some speculated that Edday’s recent baby bump post was a collaborative effort with her friend Bernice Saroni to provoke Nyamu. Saroni congratulated Edday on her supposed fourth pregnancy after the image was posted, saying, “Looks like you’re trying to catch up with me. Baby no. 4 loading. Lovely and beautiful as always. Congratulations, love. This time it’s my turn.”

Despite the speculation and trolling, it remains to be seen whether Edday is truly expecting her fourth child or not. However, it is clear that the women are not letting online chatter get to them and are focused on celebrating their families and loved ones.
