Kalonzo Musyoka to Kambas: stop being cowards behave like Luos

by Chief Okuzo

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged his fellow Kamba tribe members to shed their perceived timidity and take a cue from the Luos if they hope to have a shot at the presidency. Speaking passionately at the final farewell of Pius Musembi, a Machakos businessman and long-time confidant, Musyoka implored his community to embrace the tenacity of the Luos and channel their inner strength for political success.

He highlighted the need for the Kamba tribe to stop supporting aspirants from other communities and to champion their own cause. Musyoka also challenged former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu to join him in future demonstrations.

Musyoka invoked biblical wisdom to make his point, citing Matthew 12:11 to urge the Kamba community to pursue political power with vigor.

The opposition leader Raila Odinga recently suspended anti-government rallies after President William Ruto requested dialogue to address concerns with his administration. The opposition’s grievances include the appointment of commissioners to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Musyoka, speaking on Wednesday, confirmed that the Azimio La Umoja coalition would soon submit their representatives for the bipartisan committee and emphasized the importance of “sincere” dialogue. He assured the gathered mourners that the coalition harbors no objections to the committee and would furnish the list of members soon.
