Langata MP Jalango Ready to Leave Politics for Radio if Necessary

by Chief Okuzo

Renowned media personality and Langata MP, Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalango, has once again addressed the challenges he has faced since aligning himself with President William Ruto against the wishes of his party leader, Raila Odinga. Speaking on Citizen TV, Jalango disclosed that he has been receiving threats from Raila’s loyalists who view his move as a betrayal.

However, Jalango reiterated that his alliance with the president was not driven by personal interests but by his desire to serve the people of Langata. He acknowledged that many had branded him a traitor, but he remains resolute in his commitment to deliver for his constituency.

“My conscience is clear. I want to deliver for the people of Langata,” he said. “Even though I know many people are calling me a betrayer, I cannot post anything now, everyone is just abusing me. But I will not be deterred. I took a stand for the people of Langata, and that’s all that matters.”

Jalango further emphasized that he is not afraid of facing his predicaments, even if it means serving only one term as MP. He affirmed that his love for Raila has not waned and that he has always been loyal to the party. However, he maintains that his ultimate goal is to serve his constituents and make a positive impact in their lives.

“This thing doesn’t move me. I have left salaries that are bigger than what we earn in parliament. We are paid a million shillings as members of parliament, but I can finish my term and join the entertainment industry. I can go back to Jalango TV any day where I was earning much more than what I earn in parliament,” he added confidently.
