The music world in Kenya is in mourning as a renowned gospel artist, Ilagosa wa Ilagosa, has passed away while undergoing treatment in a hospital. The news of his death was first announced on Facebook by multiple gospel artists who confirmed the passing of the Luhya gospel singer.
Gospel artist, Ali Mukhwana, took to social media to express his sorrow over the loss of his fellow artist, writing “What a sad day. I can’t believe that you are no more, my brother Ilagosa wa Ilagosa.” Fellow gospel artist, Florence Andenyi, also sent her condolences to Ilagosa’s family.
Ilagosa, who was also a pastor and founder of the Prophetic International Ministry, had a music career spanning over a decade. He released several gospel songs including “Jesus my sweet darling,” “Sala zangu,” “Amba,” “Camera ya Yesu,” and “Sema nami.” Ilagosa was remembered as a humble man of God and a vibrant gospel artist who represented heaven with all his heart.
The cause of Ilagosa’s death is not yet known, but reports suggest that he fell ill two months ago and had been in and out of the hospital until his passing. Photos circulating on the internet show the gospel artist lying on a hospital bed, having reduced in weight. He was visited by fellow gospel artists, including Tumaini, during his hospitalization.
