Former Arsenal player Mesut Ozil has defended Cristiano Ronaldo after he was blasted due to his controversial behavior with his country and club.
Weeks after departing from old Trafford, Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have had a brawl with his national team coach Fernando Santos and was dropped for their World Cup clash against Switzerland.
Shortly, reports did rounds online that Cristiano Ronaldo had threatened to leave Portugal’s World Cup training camp after being dropped for their last-16 clash. Still, his coach Fernando Santos denied the reports.
Later Cristiano is said to have had a heated argument with his teammates due to the presence of his Manger in their training camp. As the 37-year-old keeps trending for all the wrong reasons. His former teammate Mesut Ozil has defended him, claiming that Ronaldo’s critics are hungry for attention. In a post shared by the former Arsenal star via his Instagram account, Ozil wrote: ‘I don’t get where this constant negativity from the press about Cristiano comes from, The Media is just trying to get clicks, and pundits who don’t have a career anymore just want to get attention with his big name, ” Mesut said.
