For the longest time, Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi has referred to himself as the president of comedy in Africa. However, it seems most of the legendary comedians in the continent are unaware of Eric Omondi’s presidency.
Most of them do not recognize the controversial comedian as their president of comedy. One of the biggest comedians in Africa, Salvado, has finally decided to address the issue of Eric Eric Omondi referring to himself as the president of comedy in the African continent.
The Ugandan comedian said that Eric Omondi’s presidency is self-entitled since they don’t remember voting him in as the president of comedy.
Salvado further added that Eric Omondi’s presidency was never recognized by the stand-up comedy fraternity in Africa since most of the awards given Eric Omondi claims earned him the title of the president of comedy were usually given to him without competing with other comedians.
Eric Omondi’s presidency is self-entitled. He never won any award he was given. If he is the president of comedy in Africa, then I am in the opposition,” Salvado said.
Salvado joined other international comedians who jetted into the country for the laugh festival show organized by Kenya’s legendary comedian Churchill Ndambuki. The laugh festival will take place today 10th, at KICC.
