Uhuru to meet His successor Ruto As Regional Peace talks Resume in Nairobi

Days after armed groups’ attacks continue to increase in the Democratic Republic of Congo, regional peace talks are set to resume today the 28th of November 2022. For the first time since the August general elections,  president William Ruto and his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta will see eye to eye.

The event is scheduled to be held at the Safari Park hotel in Nairobi. Among the dignitaries expected will be Burundi’s president  Evariste Ndayishimiye. Uhuru and Ruto last saw eye to eye during the latter’s inauguration ceremony.

As the regional peace talks resume it will be noted that over 355,000 residents from Congo have fled their homes since the beginning of this year with reports showing that approximately 27 million others are facing hunger issues.

Food insecurity has also been a major issues with the World Food program revealing that at least 3.4 million children are malnourished.

Reports from army sources while speaking to members of the press further revealed that they woke up to fighting in the north of Goma.

Kenyans will wait and see how Ruto and Uhuru will behave at a time when the country is also facing increased crime levels. Kenyan opposition led by Raila Odinga further questioned why the four IEBC commissioners who opposed the general elections were removed from office.
