Sol Fest Returns; Early Bird Tickets Already Sold Out

Sauti Sol are an award winning music group that hails from Kenya.

This year’s Sol fest, founded by Kenyan band Sauti Sol, features performances by a wide variety of artists, including the Brooklyn Boyz, Matata, Fena Gitu, and Nadia Mukami, to name just a few. This is the second annual gathering of its kind.

Sauti Sol announced that early birds tickets have been sold off with Netizens counting days to the much awaited event.

At the 2010 African Music Awards, the band was nominated for Best African Newcomer even though neither of the singles from their debut album, Mwanzo, were recognized. In the same year, they also won Best Group at the Museke Online Africa Music Awards, which was their first major recognition.

At the 2011 Kisima Music Awards, Sauti Sol took home two trophies: Best Fusion Artist/Group and Best Music Video for “Coming Home,” a track off of their 2011 album Sol Filosofia. A further six wins came their way over the next three years, the most notable of which was Best African Act at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards, making them the first Kenyan musicians to win the title.

The group’s success continued after the publication of their third studio album, Live and Die in Afrika, in 2015. The music video for “Sura Yako” won YouTube Video of the Year at the Pulse Music Video Awards, and the song itself won Most Downloaded Single, Most Downloaded Afro-Pop Single, and Most Downloaded Song at the Mdundo Music Awards. In addition to its many nominations, the song “Nerea,” which features the duet Amos and Josh, won the Pulse Music Video Award for Best Collaboration of the Year.

The event will be held on December 17, 2022 at Fox Drive – Inn, on Thika Road with the group promising an amazing perfomance.
