What transpired before top Pakistan’s investigative news hound was shot dead remains a mystery. The death of Arshad Sharif is believed to have occurred along Magadi road where together with his driver they failed to stop at a police roadblock. Reports reveal his death was a case of mistaken identity. Pakistan’s government under its prime minister has stated that he has communicated with Kenyan president William Ruto and that the latter has promised him speedy investigations into the matter.
Sharif was a top journalist in Pakistan. Days,, after the incumbent president disbanded the SSU unit that is accused of high-profile murders under the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the recent murder of Sharif comes after two Indians allied to William Ruto’s presidential campaign team were found dead.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged Kenya’s President William Ruto to speed up investigations of murdered Pakistani Journalist Arshad Sharif.

The Kenya Editors Guild also urged the government to speed up the investigations
“While we wait for all details on the killing, we call upon the government to quickly and thoroughly investigate the case to determine the cause and reason for the killing and bring those responsible to book. This would not only demonstrate Kenya’s and the Government’s ability to protect its citizens and visitors but also assure Kenyans and the international community that Kenya is safe for everyone, including journalists whose rights it should protect,”
The body of the slain journalist is currently lying at Chiromo mortuary. The police service claimed that they were after an individual believed to have taken part in child abduction only to open fire at the journalist.
